We’re progressively upgrading playgrounds across the region, focusing on modern facilities that are customised and offer durability specific to their location, explained Dan Aldridge, MidCoast Council’s Manager, Community Spaces, Recreation and Trades. This comment was made while announcing that, commencing this week, MidCoast Council’s parks team "will be undertaking a revamp of an existing playground in the village of Limeburners Creek with removal of the worn play equipment".
MidCoast Council manages 86 parks across the MidCoast region. The Council website mentions that the region "is home to over 148 beautiful parks, gardens, recreation areas and playgrounds". Entries for villages in the local area include:
As with the work undertaken in reserves in North Arm Cove, the provision of the above facilities has been as a result of significant local community effort - and their upkeep requires the ongoing effort of local volunteers.
Curiously, not one reserve in North Arm Cove village has made it onto the current Council list of parks, gardens, recreation areas and playgrounds.
