The last Stitch Gatherers meeting was busy and productive, with members working on a variety of knitting, crochet and quilting projects.

Before the meeting got under way, Joan Williams read out a letter from Ronald McDonald House, thanking the group for the recent donation of knitted beanies and teddy bears. These gifts were greatly appreciated by residents, staff and volunteers. Many of the beanies donated were on display at the recent 'Biggest Morning Tea.'

Then it was time for 'show and tell'. Kay Furley amazed the group with her beautiful candlewick and lace bedspread....

The Stitch Gatherers group are delighted with the result of the recent Biggest Morning Tea. Around $1, 550 has been raised so far, with more donations and hat sales still to come.

Around 60 people attended, including a fair sprlnkling of men who really got into the spirit of the auctions and dug deep into their wallets for the Cancer Council.

The hat competition featured some wild and wacky items, as well as traditional beanies and chemotherapy caps and the Judges had a difficult choice....

After the recent dramatic weather events, it's time for a different kind of 'storm in a tea cup', so join the Stitch Gatherers group on Saturday 16 May at the Community Hall from 10am to 1pm for the Biggest Morning Tea. All the details are in the attached flyer - and it's still not too late to enter the hat competition. See you there!

Members of the North Arm Cove Stitch Gatherers group have put their heads together to come up with an initiative to encourage an interest in sport by young students about to enter High School.

Through various fund-raising activities throughout the year, money will be raised to provide a subsidy of $100.00 for students to spend on sporting fees, garments or products of their choice at the time of commencing High School.

At the end of each year, an awards night will be held and $100.00 distributed to each eligible student.

The North Arm Cove Stitch Gatherers Group will hold the 2015 Biggest Morning Tea on Saturday 16 May, so mark that date on the calendar and start planning your entry in the "Headwear" competition.

Traditionally, the competition has centered around tea cosies, but next year, things will be decidedly different. Instead of making an item that fits on a tea cosy, we'll be asking you to make an item that fits on a head. Your headwear can be knitted, crocheted, felted, sewn, woven or crafted in any way possible. If it fits on...
