The principle of harnessing steam power developed rapidly and James Watt patented a much improved engine in 1769 which became the concept employed for rail and boat power. This was followed shortly after by an American engineer, John Fitch, who started trials on the Delaware River with a 45' steamboat in 1787. Editors at work

Getting ready for the launch of the new North Arm Cove website has involved many dedicated, energetic people. Doug and Tony have been running sessions to assist editors ( those wonderful people who will keep the Cove up to date with all the latest information). This week Trish Peters, Jan Walker, Maria Pickles, Susan Carter and Maureen Kelly were the latest participants.

The impact of all the recent wet weather on the contracted builder, Greg Bradley's current works schedule, has meant he will be unable to commence physical site works on the Cove Hall Pergola project until early in the new year. In the mean time, he will still be arranging trades, works schedules and ordering materials for delivery when required.

It is now hoped that the work on the pergola will be completed by early to mid January next year.
