Fame Cove/North Arm Cove ridge-line development

By leny, 15 February, 2013

Council has received a new development application from TEA GARDENS FARMS PTY LTD  to carry out a Boundary Adjustment and construct a dwelling.

This building application is very similar to the application made around 5 years ago and involves a very large (3000 sq m) two/three level building with 8 bedrooms, utility and living areas 11 car garage, swimming pool and staff quarters to be located on the hilltop and ridge line at the southern end the narrowest part of North Arm Cove.

We understand this dwelling is Stage 1 of a larger proposed development.

The Council is acting as a consultant to Stage 2 to advise the applicant as to the most appropriate use of the land and expects a substantial conservation trade off Involving the balance of the land. It is likely to include a jetty for a 31m (100 ft) boat, residential subdivision (possibly 200 lots) facing North Arm Cove, private golf course and an Eco Tourist Facility which have been proposed in the past and will require re zoning of the land.

The draft NACRA submission to DA 231-2013.pdf to Council is attached to this article.

As a 16 year resident in the Cove (but still working in Sydney), and in travelling seeing the 'sea change' pressure increase exponentially on our untouched bushland coastline, I really appreciate the professionalism and attention to detail that has gone into the NACRA response to this DA proposal by Len and the team. Thankyou, Darrall Thompson (and Philippa Coltart), Cove Blvd.
