Report
tonyhMon, 12/06/2017 - 4:33pm

The time has come for you to have your say about the proposal for a quarry at Fame Cove/Bundabah.

This Saturday at 10:00 am in the Hall, a public meeting will be held for information and discussion about this development. We think it is not appropriate for this area, but this is the opportunity for you to decide for yourself. Please come.

Meanwhile, the DA is on exhibition at Council offices and on their website http://www.midcoast.nsw.gov.au/Have-Your-Say/DA269-2017 until June 26.

You can make a submission to the Council if you have any concerns. The website provides...

The publication of a booklet on the Cove has been generously supported by both Cove News and MidCoast Council Library. The booklet is being produced to mark the 50th Anniversary of the Residents Association and will be launched on the afternoon of 20 August at a celebratory function.

Clearly water quality and effluent disposal are topics of keen interest to local residents! There was a big attendance at Saturday's Residents Association and Malcolm Hunter, MidCoast Council's Environmental Health Coordinator, responded to questions from interested residents for more than an hour. Many of those questions and responses have been captured in the attached minutes of the meeting.

The meeting also covered a wide range of other local issues - including the pending release of the report on the Boat Ramp Investigation and the results of the survey on children's recreation activities in the Cove.

The guest Speaker at the next Residents Association Meeting on 10 June will be Malcolm Hunter, the newly-appointed Environmental Health Coordinator at Mid Coast Council. Malcolm will explain his role and update us on the outcomes of the recently-completed detailed studies into the quality of water within the North Arm Cove catchment. These studies were undertaken by Council in conjunction with Newcastle University. The results may lead to Council decisions impacting all Cove residents relating to the future of pump-outs, on-site disposal and sewerage.

The packed agenda for this June 10 meeting is attached. The agenda covers a...

Report
dougkFri, 26/05/2017 - 12:23pm

Thanks to a big roll-up at working bees in late April and early May followed by some intensive effort from some of David Read's team, progress on implementing the Community Precinct is ahead of schedule. This work is being in part funded by a Stronger Communities grant of $47,940 that was obtained by the Residents Association in late 2016.

Work on the walking track and play area is well advanced and a bmx track is being shaped at the southern end of the reserve. The new parking area behind the hall is also taking shape. A big thank you...
