Saturday's meeting (April 8) of the Residents Association included useful discussion on a wide range of local issues from boat ramps to village signage and most things in between.

Strong support was expressed for the planned working bees that will take place over the next few weeks. David Read and Hunter Quarries were thanked for their contributions to the dinghy ramps now installed at Casuarina Park and Water St Reserves. Gary Sylvaney, Bill & Pattie Moller, Tony Hann, Pat Brennan and once again, David Read, were thanked for their ongoing work in Casuarina Park.

We are starting the new village green opposite the Hall and we would like your help. Please can you give a couple of hours of your time?

The new green will be a place with a trail for walking, a place to take your kids or grandkids for a bike ride or to play a ball game, or just a place to sit and listen to the birds whilst taking in the native surrounds.

The work is essential but simple entailing the collection of weeds and tree debris, plant identification and general clearance in preparation for seeding and...

Between the past week's all-to-frequent squally showers, David Read and his team have been able to commence work on the Cove's planned Commmunity Precinct. The first task is creating the ~400 metre walking/cycling track that will meander around the reserve opposite the Hall. The layout of this track was determined several weeks ago by Council Parks and Recreation staff in conjunction with the Project's local steering subcommittee. The track when completed will have a fine crushed rock surface.

You may have noticed that David Read and his team have been hard at work installing a hand-launch dinghy ramp at Casuarina Park Reserve. There is more to do of course but what has been achieved so far is looking really good. When they have finished the Casuarina ramp, David's team will start work on a similar ramp at Water Street reserve. It will make launching dinghies and kayaks at these sites much easier and safer.

This project, an initiative of the Residents Association, has been made possible thanks to a Better Boating Grant from Roads and Maritime Services...

On a very hot Saturday morning (Feb 11), things proved much cooler insider the Community Hall where there were thoughtful discussions of a wide range of local issues. The minutes of this the first Residents Association meeting for 2017 are attached.
