Village Green Track

The walk around Village Green is a very pleasant stroll so we decided to see how much exercise was involved. It is a pleasant walk but watch out for the nesting magpie. He was not worried about us but our small dog was another matter.

We used a mobile phone app to record the details. The loop is 260 metres long and it takes about 4 minutes to walk around the track at a steady pace. However, I find it difficult to see a change in 11m in the elevation as shown in the app. The details are below.

Between the past week's all-to-frequent squally showers, David Read and his team have been able to commence work on the Cove's planned Commmunity Precinct. The first task is creating the ~400 metre walking/cycling track that will meander around the reserve opposite the Hall. The layout of this track was determined several weeks ago by Council Parks and Recreation staff in conjunction with the Project's local steering subcommittee. The track when completed will have a fine crushed rock surface.

Over the past few months the Councilors and senior staff of the former Great Lakes Council indicated their support for an open space Village Green in North Arm Cove.

North Arm Cove Residents Association was asked to prepare a master plan for this and the hall site. Following consultation with all user groups submitted a plan that locates a Village Green on the now cleared land on the eastern side of The Ridgeway adjacent to the North Arm Cove Hall.

The first stage in creating a park like open space suitable for ball games and exercise with a...

Representatives from four local community groups gathered under the pergola last Friday (November 13) to examine future possibilities for the Community Hall site and the recently cleared area opposite the Hall. Present were members of the S355 Community Centre Commitee together with the Garden Group, the Tennis Club and the Residents Association committee all tossing a lot of ideas around.
