Community groups were invited to participate in a zoom workshop on migratory shore birds in the Port Stephens Estuary. I represented the North Arm Cove Community Association.There were about 30 participants, mostly from government agencies.
The main focus was on Corrie Island, Swan Bay and the islands off Soldiers Point. The morning was spent discussing the risks to the birds and in the afternoon a list of actions was developed to help protect the birds. We may be able to help by getting some local people to participate in bird surveys.
