The NACCAi ordinary general meeting scheduled for Saturday 8 August has been changed to Saturday 29 August, still commencing at 10am.

The reason for this change is that MidCoast Council is hosting a Community Plan Big Ideas BBQ at the Community Hall from 12 noon to 2pm on 29 August. The BBQ is open for all residents and landowners from North Arm Cove, including from the non-urban area.

Following the feedback from members on the draft constitution published in May, the Committee has finalised the proposed new constitution for NACCAi.

This proposed constitution will now be the subject of a Special Resolution which will be submitted to members to vote on. The Special Resolution vote will be held by an electronic ballot, and voting forms will be emailed today to members who are eligible to vote.

Since we were unable to have our scheduled NACCAi meeting in June we have prepared another Community Update on NACCAi activities for the community.

The update contains the latest on:

  • membership
  • the committee
  • the new constitution, and holding an electronic ballot for the special resolution
  • subcommittees
  • developing the community plan
  • the next meeting date,
  • and last, but not least, finances for the 2019-20 year.

The update is attached and can be downloaded.

Due to the meeting restrictions from the coronavirus the next NACCAi ordinary meeting which is scheduled for Saturday 13 June has been cancelled.

The Committee will publish another Community Update in mid June to update the community on its activities and what's happening with the MidCoast Council community planning process.

The next scheduled NACCAi ordinary meeting is on Saturday 8 August at 10am, and we are hoping that restrictions will be eased by then and the meeting can be held.

Two surveys of members opinions on proposed changes to the NACCAi constitution were undertaken at a forum on 8 February 2020 and online between 1-16 March 2020.

The survey results showed that over half of eligible members voted for membership of NACCAi to be kept to people who own property or reside in the North Arm Cove village area. Further, the vote showed that in the event that landowners from the non-urban and extended area were permitted to be members, nearly half of eligible members voted that these landowners should not be allowed to vote on motions.

Due to the coronavirus we have cancelled the NACCAi general meeting scheduled for 10am on Saturday 4 April.

At this meeting the Committee was planning to discuss the results of the constitution survey. Since we will not be able to do this, we will be preparing a report on the results of the survey and will post it on the website in about a week.

The next general meeting is scheduled for Saturday 13 June at 10am.

In the April NACCAi community update the Committee advised that the next step in updating the constitution was to prepare another draft constitution for members to review. We have completed this draft and are issuing a copy for member review and feedback.

This proposed constitution is intended to replace the existing constitution that was developed in 1992 and is out of date and no longer meets the needs of the Association.

It is effectively an updated and modernised version of the 1992 constitution that incorporates:

Since we aren't allowed to have a normal NACCAi meeting, the Committee has prepared the attached update on what's been happening.

The next NACCAi meeting is scheduled for Saturday 13 June. We don't know if we will be able to hold it, so keep an eye on the website in late May for an update.

NACCAi's postal address has traditionally been that of the Secretary.

But that has now changed, and NACCAi now has its own postal address and letterbox.

Our postal address is now: 297 The Ridgeway, North Arm Cove 2324. This is the address of the Community Centre, which is determined by MidCoast Council.

The letterbox is located at the Community Centre, as can be seen in the accompanying photo.
