Two surveys of members opinions on proposed changes to the NACCAi constitution were undertaken at a forum on 8 February 2020 and online between 1-16 March 2020.

The survey results showed that over half of eligible members voted for membership of NACCAi to be kept to people who own property or reside in the North Arm Cove village area. Further, the vote showed that in the event that landowners from the non-urban and extended area were permitted to be members, nearly half of eligible members voted that these landowners should not be allowed to vote on motions.

Due to the coronavirus we have cancelled the NACCAi general meeting scheduled for 10am on Saturday 4 April.

At this meeting the Committee was planning to discuss the results of the constitution survey. Since we will not be able to do this, we will be preparing a report on the results of the survey and will post it on the website in about a week.

The next general meeting is scheduled for Saturday 13 June at 10am.

Hello to everyone that belongs to the Community of North Arm Cove,

This is a sad day for me as I announce that, yesterday, I notified the Community Association Committee that I am standing down, both as Vice President and Treasurer.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my tenure since Doug and Kath nominated me back in December 2018 and it has been meeting the Community that has bought me the most joy. Thank you to absolutely everyone, you have all made me feel so Welcome, I am very grateful that I could contribute in some small way.

On Sunday evening 1 March 2020 I sent an email to all members (for whom we had email addresses) requesting them to complete a short seven question survey on the new constitution, by Monday 16 March 2020.

The purpose of the survey is to determine members views on whether people from the surrounding non-urban and rural areas should be permitted to be members of the association, and if so what voting rights they should have.

In the last general meeting on 8 February I advised that the minutes of the special and general meetings held on 7 December 2019 needed amending and the Fame Cove Subcommittee report needed to be included. This has now been done and the amended minutes are posted for member review and approval at the April general meeting.

This post is a brief summary of what happened at the NACCAi meeting last Saturday 8 February.

The meeting had three parts to it: Forum and survey on the constitution, the Annual General Meeting, and the General Meeting.

Constitution Forum and Survey

The forum commenced with an introduction by President Jim Parnell on how it was going to be run, which was followed by a presentation by Secretary Maria Pickles on the Executive Committee’s views on the geographical area that should be covered by the constitution and the reasons why.
