This post contains an update on developing the plan, and a call for additional residents to join the steering group.

1. An update on developing the plan

MidCoast Council started the process for developing a local community plan for North Arm Cove and Carrington in late 2020.

Council’s idea of local community plans is "for people within a community to come together, have a conversation about what they want for the future and develop a plan for how they will get there.

The post I put on the website last night about the defibrillator training this week accidentally put the dates down as February not March.

I didn't realise the mistake till it was pointed out to me a few minutes ago.

The lesson - don't post on the website late at night!!!

We still have spots for this Thursday evening (11 March) for residents who would like to attend - please send me an email to let me know who's coming.

Last week I put a post on the website about CPR and defibrillator training that is being held on the evenings of Tuesday 9 Feb and Thursday 11 Feb, starting at 7:30 pm in the Community Centre.

The Tuesday session is fully booked, so if you would like to attend you will need to come to the Thursday session.

If you are planning on attending on Thursday, please send let me know by email to ASAP.

You may have noticed a new tab - Emergency Info - on the website.

It is on the right side of the home page, under the log in tab.

When you click on it you will see that it contains links to the emergency information websites that are most applicable to North Arm Cove.

It contains links with information on emergencies in the MidCoast Council area, and a five step guide on preparing a Bushfire Survival Plan; and links to Rural Fire Service (RFS) facts sheets and how to evaluate how fireproof your bushfire plan is.

Firstly, I would like to thank all those North Arm Cove residents who donated money to purchase the defibrillator, and the North Arm Cove Tennis Club which organised a $1,250 grant towards the purchase.

I, and I am sure all of the North Arm Cove community, greatly appreciate your generousity and organising the grant.

The defibrillator has been purchased and installed under the pergola at the Community Centre. It is contained in an alarmed locked steel cabinet with a keypad for access.

1. What's happening with our local community plan, what residents really think about the Cove, and what their infrastructure priorities are?

2. The defibrillator, when will we get it, where will it be installed, and what training will be provided?

3. Proposals for dual occupancy, and what impact they could have on the Cove's "character"?

4. What's happening about carparking and landscaping next to the Community Centre, and the power and water upgrade?

The first NACCAi ordinary meeting for 2021 is being held this coming Saturday, 13th February 2021, at the Community Centre.

Please note that the meeting will be held from 2pm to 4pm, instead of in the mornings as previously held.

This is because the coffee shop will be open in the morning, and it is not practical to hold the meeting at the same time.

The agenda and the finance and subcommittee reports, together with the draft minutes from the December 2020 meeting, are attached.

Covid safe arrangements will be in place for the meeting.

This post is an update for the North Arm Cove community on a change in time for the next NACCAi meeting, and recent changes to the NACCAi Committee, as follows:

13 February 2021 Ordinary General Meeting – time change and agenda items

This meeting will now be held from 2pm to 4pm at the Community Centre on Saturday 13 February, instead of the scheduled 10am to 12noon on this day.

bobreidSun, 27/12/2020 - 5:06pm

We now have sufficient donations to go ahead and purchase a defibrillator for the Cove.

A total of 18 families and groups, including the North Arm Cove Stitchgathers, have donated $3,680, with individual donations from $50 to $1,000.

This is a fantastic result, a result that the community can be proud of. It shows what we can achieve when we work together.
