Notice has been received from Great Lakes Council of another two talks in the Marine Discovery Series. They are entitled "Shells on the Beach ; What can they tell us about biodiversity and ecology?", and "Key Issues in Marine Protected Areas Science and Management, with latest developments in Marine Parks, Australia". Both are to be held on Friday Feb. 15th, from 6.30pm to 9.00pm at Cape Hawke SLSC, Forster. Light refreshments will be served.

The Residents Association is building two lists for Council: identifying the Cove's worst Drainage problems and worst Road problems. Add your comment to this article identifying the location of serious drainage or road problems that you think should be addressed by Council.

The weeks of heavy rain would have highlighted which drains can't handle heavy downpours. Tell us the ones which have affected you. Which sections of our roadways do you think are in greatest need of repair?

Residents will have noticed that improvements have been carried out to "that bend" on North Arm Cove Road, and that a "pot-hole filling" exercise is under way. We have Jamie Condie, Works Engineer, Tea Gardens to thank for this. After concerns were expressed at the December General Meeting of the Residents Association about the proximity of the guide posts to the tar on this bend, ...

Survey forms were delivered throughout the village with Cove News and also available for on-line completion for several weeks. Forty-nine surveys were completed before the closing date. This represented 76 adults as some surveys were completed by couples rather than individuals.

There were a number of really good suggestions included with the completed surveys and these will be looked at later as part of a more detailed analysis.

The survey asked people to rate 12 items from the existing priorities list plus three additional items as A, B or C priorities...

It may not be of concern to many of us living in the Cove, but the Village street layout has proved to be an on-going problem for visitors and emergency vehicles. For this reason, placing signage at the entrance to the Cove explaining our street layout has been one of the projects on the Residents Association's priority list. When Great Lakes Council recently invited applications for grants of up to $2000, this particular project was seen as fitting within the grant guidelines.

Thank you to all the wonderful people who have responded to our survey which has now closed. Now comes the task of analysing the responses received. A preliminary report will be given at the NACRA meeting on 8 December. A summary of results will also be published on the web site.
