The electronic ballot for the NACCAi Special Resolution to replace the existing constitution with a new constitution was held from Friday 17 July to Friday 7 August.

To oversee the integrity of the voting process, Sarah Wilkinson from MidCoast Council acted as returning officer. Ms Wilkinson has advised that she has “full faith that the outcome is in line with all appropriate requirements under the Act.”

A major benefit of the electronic ballot was that all members could easily participate in the vote without having to go to a meeting.

Council has advised that it has cancelled the Big Ideas BBQ that is part of the Community Plan process, and was scheduled to be held on Saturday 29 August from 12 noon to 2pm.

Council also advised that the Community Plan is still going ahead, but the timetable for its development will be slightly delayed.

I will provide an update on the plan timetable when advised by Council.

This cancellation will not affect the NACCAi ordinary general meeting on Saturday 29 August from 10am to 12 noon which is still going ahead.

The NACCAi ordinary general meeting scheduled for Saturday 8 August has been changed to Saturday 29 August, still commencing at 10am.

The reason for this change is that MidCoast Council is hosting a Community Plan Big Ideas BBQ at the Community Hall from 12 noon to 2pm on 29 August. The BBQ is open for all residents and landowners from North Arm Cove, including from the non-urban area.

In the April NACCAi community update the Committee advised that the next step in updating the constitution was to prepare another draft constitution for members to review. We have completed this draft and are issuing a copy for member review and feedback.

This proposed constitution is intended to replace the existing constitution that was developed in 1992 and is out of date and no longer meets the needs of the Association.

It is effectively an updated and modernised version of the 1992 constitution that incorporates:
