The residents of North Arm Cove and surrounding areas have once again proved they can punch above their weight when it comes to fund raising, with a total of $2,050 raised at the recent Biggest Morning Tea.
Around 70 guests enjoyed a traditional Devonshire Tea and browsed the sale tables. There were so many fine entries in the Lavender and Lace craft competition that the Judges had a pretty tough time deciding on the six winners. They were Cheryl Fleming from Karuah, who won in two categories, Kay Furley, Annette Searle, also from Karuah, Joan Williams and Robin Hadden.
The People’s Choice award went to Cheryl Fleming for her crocheted “Lavender Seller”. Voters really appreciated the many hours of work that went into this beautiful creation. The Judges Choice was awarded to Annette Searle for a pair of multi-coloured, lavender toned knitted socks.
Lots of raffle prizes were up for grabs, resulting in more than 20 lucky winners. Many thanks also to the companies who donated vouchers, Bunnings, Black Possum, Dyvalinas and Dan Murphy’s.
So now it’s time to think about the Biggest Morning Tea for 2019 and we can reveal that the theme will be “Black and White”. That’s anything black, anything white or black and white combined – and if you like, you can add a little touch of colour.
A big thank you to all who attended this year - your generosity will help in furthering vital cancer research. See you next year!
