SOUP KITCHEN RAISES $1,881

By Annie44, 12 July, 2022

A big thank you to all those who attended the North Arm Cove Stitch Gatherers β€œSoup Kitchen” on Saturday 9 July.

Diners heartily enjoyed the soup and many came back for seconds. It was pleasing to see families from outside the area attend, but the Stitch Gatherers were a little disappointed that so few local residents supported the event. Despite the relatively low attendance, a healthy amount was raised for the NSW Cancer Council and a cheque for $1,881 is on its way to them.

Special thanks to the hard working Stitch Gatherers and volunteers who rolled up their sleeves to make and serve the soup, sell raffle tickets and craft and make sure the event ran smoothly.

Lucky winner of the major raffle prize of a gourmet hamper and knitted blanket was Robyn Gee. Bunnings at Heatherbrae donated a gift voucher worth $150 for the general raffle and a very excited Lorraine Zions drew the lucky ticket.

So now the soup pots have been put away, the Stitch Gatherers will meet to consider what to do in 2023 and any suggestions would be most welcome.
