The Stitch Gatherers celebrate Christmas at Karuah

It was a scorching hot day, but the ladies from Stitch Gatherers were ‘cool as cucumbers’ at their choice of venue, Karuah RSL.

Before the feasting got under way, Joan Williams thanked the twelve members present for their hard work during the year and passed on a suggestion from Maureen Kelly for a special event at the 2016 Melbourne Cup Lunch.  This project will involve craftwork from the group and everyone is keen to get started.

Joan also welcomed new member Vicky Dewey, who had only rung a few days prior to enquire about joining the group.

It was then on to a feast of Asian cuisine, with a few glasses of wine to wash it down.  Fortunately, the ladies could imbibe guilt free, as they were chauffered to and from the club via the courtesy bus.  For former North Arm Cove resident Annette Searle, it was a quick walk home as she now lives just down the road from the Club.

The Stitch Gatherers meet again in the new year – on the third Wednesday of each month commencing February 2016.  If you are interested in joining, please phone Joan Williams on 4997 3438
