As this year steadily draws to a close (where has it gone!), the Stitch Gatherers group are making plans for a busy 2014.

There’s the Biggest Morning Tea next May and the group are also looking at a major project, inspired by the recent “Yarning Our Country” exhibition – an amazing display of plants, animals, trees, people, buildings, machinery, clouds, grass, water insects, flowers etc., all knitted in 3D.  Over 200 knitters of all ages and from all over NSW made this woollen wonderland, displayed at the Gloucester Gallery.  Several members of Stitch Gatherers made the trip to Gloucester just to see the exhibition.

Here's a little taste of "Yarning Our Country".

With only a few meetings to go before the Christmas/New Year break, the ladies are looking forward to the traditional November lunch.  This is normally held at a different venue each year, however last year’s lunch at Lillies and Limes, Morpeth was so enjoyable, it has been unanimously voted as the venue for this year.  So on 20 November, the Stitch Gatherers will meet at Morpeth for yet another excellent lunch, followed by some retail therapy.

If you sew, embroider, quilt, crochet or knit and would like to join the group, phone Joan Williams on 4997 3438.
