A well-earned lunch and some retail therapy for our crafty Stitchgatherers

Stitchgatherers many skills include knitting and quilting

Some of the group at work

It’s been a busy year for the Stitchgatherers group.  They have finalised some outstanding projects and their knitted squares blanket is nearing completion.  In fact the knitters have been so busy that there will be enough squares for several blankets.  These will be donated before next winter arrives.

Aside from the various projects undertaken by the group each year, members bring their own work to the meetings. Their skills cover a wide range of handcrafts, including embroidery, quilting and knitting.  Many of the finished items will be on display at the Biggest Morning Tea next May.

The November meeting will be the last for 2012 and will double as the group’s Christmas function.  This year, Morpeth is the destination and after enjoying a leisurely lunch at Lillies & Lime, they will be heading for the many specialty shops Morpeth has to offer.  The Alpaca Barn and Campbell’s Craft Stores will definitely be on the “must see" list.

Stitchgatherers will resume in February 2013.  Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month from 10am at the Community Centre.
