Thank you and congratulations to the YESS Committee, organisers of the Australia Day event at Heros Beach. There was a large crowd and we had a wonderful day. The weather was kind, not too hot, and the kids, big and small, enjoyed playing in the water. The sausage sandwiches were great and there was plenty of cheer and good will.
A few Cove residents continued celebrating into the evening by attending the fireworks at Karuah RSL at 9pm. If you like your fireworks up close without big crowds, then you would have enjoyed this event. You could feel the percussion of the explosions and you would occasionally get the smoke and embers from the falling fireworks, which were exploding directly overhead. Three fire trucks were on hand, including the NAC rural fire brigade, in case there were any unintentional fires, but it all went off without a hitch. Thank you Karuah RSL, another great local event.
