Council has determined new hire fees to apply during this financial year for our Community Hall.
Primarily intended to cover inflation, the fees for two, three and four hours' hire have each increased by $1 - in percentage terms those increases range from 4 to 6%. Larger percentage increases apply for large functions such as weddings, parties or dances (7%) and commercial functions (11%).
Although the rates increase for the current year are relatively small, the current rate for two hours hire is now 64% greater than it was for the 2011/12 financial year. These increases have undoubtedly been a disincentive to some local groups making regular use of this valuable local facility.
