What is the human cost of the North Arm Cove burnouts - scared, intimidated, unsafe, fear, uneasy, threatened, abandoned!

These are words that North Arm Cove residents used when describing their experiences with the burnouts.

We felt that Council hasn’t really considered the human cost of these burnouts, so two weeks ago we asked residents to tell us their experiences with the burnouts. All up 33 residents provided stories on their experience and the impacts on them and their families.

We have put these stories into the attached dossier.

Some of the experiences are quite disturbing, with residents using words like scared, intimidated, unsafe, fear, uneasy and abandoned to describe how they felt. On top of this there has been many flat tyres from burnout debris, which could have easily resulted in blowouts whilst doing 110kph on a motorway.

An earlier copy of this dossier was provided to MidCoast Council and our local member Kate Washington early this week – the attached copy contains stories received this week.

You will see from the dossier there is a real human cost to these burnouts that Council and the State Government must consider in making decisions on stopping them.
