Saturday 12 April 2025... Robyn Gee, President of the NAC Community Centre Management Committee, addressed a gathering of family, friends and patrons:
"Welcome everyone this morning at our beautiful Community Centre and Coffee in the Cove… a treasure for residents and visitors alike. We asked the residents of North Arm Cove what they would like to see here and, the overwhelming response was for a Coffee Shop. It has evolved over the last few years into the vibrant hub that we have today.
Over the years, many local residents have donated, worked, volunteered and contributed in numerous ways, and for that we are extremely grateful. One such couple, the late Lal and Jim Clayton, gave much support in their time, good humour and financial donations – enabling us to purchase this bench and seating. We wish to thank the next generations of Claytons… Lee, Mark, Ami, Tara and Charlie - who are here today.
This is the plaque was made in respect and memory of Lal and Jim and we hope all will enjoy the use of the bench and seating.
