Myall U3A Second Semester Commences.

By sch, 21 July, 2012

The second semester of Myall U3A commences on Monday 16th July, and programmes for this will be sent in the next few days. All the regular classes will be running, as well as an extremely entertaining line-up of Friday presentations. Of special interest this semester will be the Friday sessions by John Fitzgerald entitled London Life Through the Centuries, a multi-part, multi-media presentation of the working, social and cultural lives of the people of London through four centuries, from 16th to 19th. The first meeting of the Garden Club will be on 7th August, with the special guest being Helmut Panhuber, an organic gardener from Pindimar. This gentleman sells his organic fruit and vegetables as well as products made from them, and has an extensive knowledge of organic gardening.

Another highlight this semester will be the concert on entitled “Classics and Jazz” with David Miller from the Sydney Conservatorium. As the the title suggests, this will be a mixture of classical music and well-loved jazz numbers presented by five graduate students, all with very impressive CV's. They will, as usual, visit Tea Gardens Public School on the Friday afternoon, an occasion that the students always enjoy. This has become an annual event and will be on 4th August at 2.00pm in the Hawks Nest Community Centre. Tickets are $15.00 and are available from the pharmacies, as well as from the Lyles on 4997 9630 and the Nichols on 4997 9242. All welcome as usual.

New members are still welcome to join and visitors are most welcome also.
