Paralysis ticks
Dr Karl K. (ABC) discusses a research finding that some people can have a delayed reaction to a paralysis tick bite. An allergic reaction to meat can occur one to six months after being bitten. As paralysis ticks are endemic to the east coast this may be of interest.
