Many Cove locals would have heard the helicopter landing at the Community Hall tonight (Friday). This followed a house fire in The Esplanade (west). Three people including a very young baby were transported to hospital. Two casualties were airlifted by the helicopter at the Hall, and the third from a second helicopter which had landed in Karuah.
Thanks are due to the emergency services and those members of the local community who provided assistance. The incident underlines the importance of our local brigade which is on the lookout for new volunteers.
