I have seen the evidence of two incidents that have occurred on the road into the village in the last 36 Hrs. Both resulting in crippling local fauna, causing death.
The dry spell has again brought the wallaby's and kangaroo's to the road verge for green clip. Although the speed limit on the outer village roads is 80Klm, avoiding a hoppy at that speed can be difficult and dangerous for both.
Deer have also been seen by the writer on Gooringi and Tea Gardens road in recent weeks. Obviously dawn and dusk are the most at risk times.
Being focused and diligent is essential.
