COMMUNITY CENTRE REFURBISHMENT

By Loal Conroy, 16 May, 2023

A few years ago, the floors in the Main Hall and Coffee in the Cove were sanded and polished to the tune of $8,000. The heavy footfall in Coffee in the Cove has taken its toll … thus, we recently closed the coffee shop for a couple of weeks to allow for the flooring to be sanded and re-treated.  Whilst devoid of furniture, we thought it a good opportunity to repaint the walls and woodwork.  Luckily, Coffee in the Cove have garnered sufficient funds to cover the cost of such refurbishment (the meagre budget from MidCoast Council {MCC} covers nothing of note.

We feel the make-over looks amazing and hope our patrons feel the same and continue to relish savoury / sweet treats and delicious barista coffee.    The funding generated by Coffee in the Cove is ploughed back into maintaining a vibrant and pleasant venue for residents and visitors to enjoy.

On 18 and 19 May we are holding a Working Bee to continue painting on the exterior walls with further decorative makeovers inside the Main Hall.  We would really welcome some assistance from the Community so if you have couple of hours to spare and are handy with a paintbrush or hanging artwork, please join us!
