A Christmas party for 40 locals was held at the Community Centre due to inclement weather had organisers are running to organise BBqs,Dishwashers and Stoves. Users of the hall are familiar with the routine. The dishwasher did not have time to warm up as it cannot be used at the same time as the BBQs. The BBQs had been used earlier in the evening for entrees. The stove could not be used either so all the food was warmed in the bay maries. The large fridge could not be used so many eskis were brought in to keep food at temperature. The good news is that this could be one of the last events conducted with limimted power.
The Community Centre Committee has been sucessful in gaining a grant of $56875 for a much needed power upgrade and water tank, from the Community Infrastructure grants Office of Gambling NSW. There were 12 community projects under this category which were sucessful, so we were pleased to be included in the awarded grants list after a tough process which involved meeting over 25 assessment criteria.
The grant is auspiced by North Arm Cove Community Association Inc and includes a new power pole, 62kv transformer, wiring to the centre and a new switch board. Plus a new 58,000 litre galvanised water tank which will provide water for the commiunity centre and community garden.
Thanks to all the community who supported the grant process including Rob Reid, President NACCAi, NAC Tennis, and NAC Community Garden.

Start rehearsing the new words to our anthem for our community celebration, Heros Beach.
A simple change has been adopted by the Commonwealth (Jan 2021) in the second line, "For we are one and free" instead of "For we are young and free", is an attempt to aknowledge the 60,000 years of Indigenous Australia.
Some of us remember when the first line was changed in 1984 from " Australian Sons" to "Australians all" to include all genders.
For the full history of the Anthem see Wikipedia
Latest words of the Anthem are found here for your rehearsals.
Australians all let us rejoice,
For we are one and free;
We've golden soil and wealth for toil;
Our home is girt by sea;
Our land abounds in nature's gifts
Of beauty rich and rare;
In history's page, let every stage
Advance Australia Fair.
In joyful strains then let us sing,
Advance Australia Fair.
Beneath our radiant Southern Cross
We'll toil with hearts and hands;
To make this Commonwealth of ours
Renowned of all the lands;
For those who've come across the seas
We've boundless plains to share;
With courage let us all combine
To Advance Australia Fair.
In joyful strains then let us sing,
Advance Australia Fair.
