Community Building Partnership grants - suggestions for North Arm Cove?

By bobreid, 18 April, 2021
Information

Did you know that much of the community infrastructure in North Arm Cove was paid for by government grants - examples include the Community Centre, the tennis court, and Yallarwah Park. A recent example is the upgrading of the power and water supply to the Community Centre that is happening at the moment - this is also being funded by a grant.

Our local MP, Kate Washington, has advised us that the application period for Community Building Partnership grants opens this Monday, 19 April 2021. These grants are an opportunity for local community organisations to apply for funding to complete building or renovation projects, or to purchase large equipment.

The grants are for a total of $300,000 for each state electorate, and individual grants can be between $5,000 and $150,000. Kate Washington will be part of the assessment panel for grants within the Port Stephens electorate.

So, do you have any suggestions for grants for North Arm Cove that we could apply for? For example, do we want to upgrade any of our reserves such as Heros Beach with new picnic facilities, exercise equipment, childrens play equipment, road sealing or car parking?

What we need is suggestions for grant applications, and some community minded residents who would be willing to spend a bit of time working out the details of the grant applications. The grant application would need to be made by an incorporated association such as NACCAi.

Further information on the grants can be found from this link - grant information.

If you have any suggestions for grants and are willing to help prepare the grant application, please contact me on president.naccai@gmail.com.
