Eastern shoreline of Cove

Proposed Fame Cove/North Arm Cove Eco Tourism Development. Proposals relating to the re-zoning of the land along the eastern shoreline of North Arm Cove-  to change the present land use from Rural Zoning to one appropriate for Eco Tourism - are currently being considered by Great Lakes Council. On Thursday the 16 January, Lisa Schiff (Director of Planning Great Lakes Council) and GLC's Land Use Consultant met with members of the North Arm Cove/Fame Cove sub committee of NACRA, and representatives of the Bundabah and Pindimar communities, to present an outline of the these proposals.

This proposed project is currently at the preliminary investigation stage and will progress through 2014 as plans are developed. We have been assured of on-going opportunities for involvement and comment as planning progress is made.

Also presently under consideration by Council is a separate Development Application (DA) for a 30m jetty and mooring pylons to accommodate a 30m luxury craft on the pristine shoreline near the entry to Fame Cove. The application states that this jetty is for use associated with the recently granted DA for a 3000 sq m house on the hilltop adjacent to the village of North Arm Cove. Members of our Sub Committee have raised comment and objection to this proposal which is presently being be considered by GLC Council Officers.
