Quiet time Community Centre Management Committee-wise since December, however, hall usage good – parties, Carols by Candlelight and regular bookings have now resumed after the Christmas break.

Pergola area completed – seating/tables installed by committee members - and wood fired pizza oven has been getting good use – total fire bans permitting, of course.

Council have made application for finance to upgrade transformer and once this is done BBQ will be connected, until then, it is not in use.

Community Centre Management committee have their first meeting for 2013 Wednesday, February 13 – observers welcome.

Firewise

Have you noticed a lot of land clearing activity around the Cove lately? Darrin Briggs, our RFS Community Liaison Officer, has sent out over 3,000 letters to property owners in and around the Cove requesting that they clear up their blocks to prevent them being a hazard to neighbouring properties. This has been a massive effort on his part and we certainly appreciate the results.

The recent record breaking weather and associated bushfire has really emphasised the need for individuals to have prepared their Bushfire Survival Plan, so please everyone if you haven't already done so, please do it ASAP.

Social/Fundraising Committee

The Association is holding another Social Night on February 22nd from 5.30. It wll be on similar lines to the last one, being a sausage sizzle. Cost is $5.00 per head to cover expenses. Please bring your own drinks and nibbles, tea and coffee provided.

On March 15th we are organising our first fund-raiser, a St. Patrick's celebration. It's still in the planning stage, but we hope everyone will get into the mood, whether of Irish extraction or not, and dress appropriately! Watch the blackboard and the web for details. Money raised by the Association will go to funding items that came out of the survey, eg seating, landscaping in reserves.
