The North Arm Cove Residents Association has received the following notice from the Port Stephens EcoNetwork, asking for community support:-
"The Port Stephens/Great Lakes Marine Park is under attack by the NSW Government, with its future under review and recreational line fishing already allowed in sanctuary zones. To mount a defence will require considerable effort and funding.
The General Meeting and Community Forum on Friday 28th March is to be the launch of an EcoNetwork/Community campaign to defend our Marine Park with community support and scientific input."
They are asking for a big turnout of members and supporters, as well as donations, and the nomination of a marine-informed person to sit on their Consulting Committee.
They need these inputs for an effective campaign and are asking for community help.
The meeting will be held at the Tommaree Community Centre, Salamander Bay. (Next to the Library), at 2.00pm, 28th March. Any interested Cove residents are invited to attend.
