Cove Residents will be shocked and saddened to hear of the untimely death of David Bortfeld, Great Lakes Council's Manager, Parks and Recreation. He passed away in his sleep last Thursday night.
Because of his role at Council, the Residents Association Executive liaised with him with most of our projects and our dealings with Council. An enormous amount of work passed across his desk, and we would,on occasion, get responses from him even though it was a weekend, or he was on leave. The size of his workload meant that we didn't always get action as quickly as we would have liked, but we respected him in his professional capacity, and liked him as a man. Council staff are naturally devastated, and he will be difficult to replace.
