TENNIS NEWS MAY 2014

The good news this month is that the new bench table for the tennis shelter was installed by Council on 22 April and is exactly what we needed. GLC also removed one of the older tables, which was unsafe, and has dyna bolted the new one to terra firma so thievery will be a bit more difficult.

Court bookings have been well down due to both weather (April-May are often our wettest months due to the east coast lows and seasonal change) and the absence of some of our more regular players - North Arm Cove tends to empty somwehat over winter, with people travelling to warmer climes.

Saturday social tennis remains strong with usually 8-10 regular players depending on weather. Monday mornings have been a bit short on starters but it is a great time to blow the weekend cobwebs away and fits in well with the 0800 exercise classes in the Hall. Both Saturday and Monday tennis is now 0900-1100.

A bike rack has been "found"and has been installed on the south side of the court to accommodate the bike riders to the tennis and basketball practice court. Thanks to  Dick Peters for his assistance in concreting.
