Now is a good time for everyone to be thinking about preparing for the approaching bush fire season. For those in the community that may require or need assistance to prepare their home, the AIDER program may be able to assist.

The program helps people live more safely and confidently in their home in areas where bush fires may start, and aims to support our most-at-risk community members.

I would encourage those that may require assistance to read the brochure, and go to the website via the link to see what help may be available to them. Do not be afraid to ask.

For those that are capable, I would like to encourage you to put some time aside and begin preparing your home. Preparing the home for bush fire also provides an opportunity to involve the children. This way we can install the importance of being prepared at a young age.

Remember that a community that works together to prepare, and reduce the risk, will stand a greater chance if bush fire threatens.

Kind regards
Ian
