As always, seeking approval from the multitude of private land managers ( owners ) is proving challenging. Kirsty has been doing a colossal job with issuing letters to owners.

There is a little over a week remaining to respond to the draft MidCoast Community Strategic Plan . Council will use this plan as a guide in its decision-making. It is up to us to respond if we want the direction Council takes to be relevant to us.

After the merger, a “What is MidCoast” project produced the following vision statement:

We aspire to be a place of unique environmental significance where our quality of life and sense of community is balanced by sustainable and sensitive development, which fosters economic...

Just before Christmas 2017, concerns were raised about a canal - up to 16 kilometres long - being carved out of the 2400+ hectare former Australian Pine Plantation property off Viney Creek Road East. In an article posted today (Sunday 4 Feb) on the SMH website, Domain journalist Lucy Macken reports on a stop-work order being issued to the owner Phillip Lee.

"Councils" became a key topic at the recently-held January meeting of the Pindimar Bundabah Community Association (PBCA). Following discussions, the meeting resolved to investigate further whether a change of Council was possible for those villages and towns located on the northern shore of Port Stephens.

The jumbo-sized puzzle below completes the trilogy of Cove Holiday Cryptic Crossword Puzzles. This time round, many of the clues and/or answers have a bit of Australian flavour.

If you can't quite get to grips with cryptic crosswords then cruciverbalist (crossword setter) David Astle has written some books that might help. Here is my 2011 review of his first.
