North Arm Cove resident Suzanne Alexander is a trained counsellor and is pleased to offer our community a counselling service that focuses on strengths to enhance life and general wellbeing.
I spoke to Suzanne earlier this week about her counselling service and she provided the following:
"My high school sweetheart and I moved to North Arm Cove last year. We found this area by chance and as some of the locals have remarked, it seems that the Cove found us. Our neighbours and the community have warmly welcomed us and we are very grateful to everyone and to be living in such a special place.
Recently I started my own counselling business so I can now offer a counselling service, offering emotional and mental support to the local community. In Victoria I ran a young adult support group for chronic illness and had a very rewarding role working in End of Life care. I am a credited member of the Australian Counsellors Association after graduating from the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors with a Diploma of Counselling Practice, majoring in Mindfulness in Therapy and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT). The main aim of ACT is to increase valued living to help create a meaningful life. I believe in the importance of this as focusing on what we truly value helps give us strength especially in times when we may need it the most."
