For many years the helipad at the Hall has remained unused – and that has probably been a good thing. But today (Sunday 26th) the helipad saw action for the second time in ten days and that is not good news.
Today, SES efforts working to remove a fallen tree led to a significant injury to one of this hard-working team requiring the rescue helicopter to be called once more to the Cove to effect a medical evacuation. We really appreciate the great efforts that these volunteers undertake in difficult and often risky situations and wish this volunteer a speedy recovery.
