There has been some great work undertaken in the Cove during this past year to make our Village less at risk in the event of bushfire. But the creation of an asset protection zone around the Community Centre and the hazard reduction burns are not excuses for us to lower our guard.

It looks likely to be another scorching summer. The deadly fires in Western Australia and South Australia over the past two weeks should be enough to motivate us to ensure that our homes are well prepared, that our bushfire survival plans are up to date and that we have identified clear triggers to tell us when to leave.
