SAGE ON STAGE

Q&A

  • Are those of us in our 60s and beyond the luckiest people alive? Yes - because the music of our generation was the best.
  • But why is music so important? Because, as we get older, we always seem able to recall music (our music) while we tend to forget everything else.
  • And what's the best way to be reminded of our music? By hearing it performed live on stage by the new band in town - SAGE!

No kidding - if you need a lot of colour, foot stomping and joyful rhythms in your life, spend a couple of hours in the company of this great quintet. In their matching black fedoras, variegated tops and black pants, these guys are cool, good on the eye and great on the ear.

In fact, hearing their singing and plucking as they played to a packed audience last Thursday at the TG Baptist Hall, one could be excused for thinking they'd been doing this for ever.  Too young, I thought, but they assured me they were all over 25. And that two of the band's members had never performed on stage before! Amazing.

Sage offers the combined wisdom and talents of Susan Carter - keyboard, LΓ©onie Keipert - vocals, Sue Anderson - bass guitar, Phil Anderson - vocals, percussion and a yellow farty thing (an instrument - not the player), and the Directeur de Musique, Jan Carter-  vocals and lead guitar.

Get some rhythm in your life. Go see them LIVE, LIVE, LIVE at the Baptist Hall every other third Thursday of the month. Next opportunity April 21st.
