Information

Chanel 9 investigative reporter Josh Bavas spent 2 hours on Tuesday with NACCAi's Fame Cove Action Group team leader Len Yearsley in preparation for a Current Affair report on Fame Cove - expected to be broadcast this Tuesday at 7:00pm.

In the meantime, the four Fame Cove lots are privately owned by Tea Garden Farms Pty Ltd. Should the situation ever arise that this land is put up for sale again, we believe the opportunity must be taken by State or Federal government to protect its heritage and environmental values by acquiring it as a publicly owned asset. The Action Group will be promoting this idea to all agencies involved in deciding the land’s future.

The Draft Rural Rezoning proposals currently under consideration by the MidCoast Council, provide for a new land classification - E2 Environmental Conservation. This would be ideally suited for Fame Cove as it recognises the sensitivity of the area and would provide security for its the future.

The Draft Rural Rezoning proposals can be read on the council’s website https://haveyoursay.midcoast.nsw.gov.au/know-your-rural-zone and are on display till November 19th. The community is invited to provide feedback and we encourage everyone to express their opinions, and, in particular, to offer support for the new E2 classification..

On Monday December 4th, the eight respondents (two individuals and six companies) subject to the Federal Court orders, are required to submit comprehensive statements of their assets to the Court.

On December 4th, those same parties are required to attend court to respond to the ATOs demand for outstanding dues to the value of $278m.
