Grassroots democracy was the order of the day at the North Arm Cove Community Hall this morning (9 April) when a small but appreciative assembly of members and visitors discussed issues of local and wider significance with Lyne electorate candidates, David Gillespie (Nationals) and Peter Alley (Labor), plus Acting Mayor, Len Roberts.
The prospect of a merger was also discussed at some length even though there was some frustration at the deficiency of detail on which we were being expected to respond to the proposal. The feeling of locals at the meeting was wholeheartedly against what was being proposed.
