Council Community Grant for the Cove

By dougk, 15 December, 2012

It may not be of concern to many of us living in the Cove, but the Village street layout has proved to be an on-going problem for visitors and emergency vehicles. For this reason, placing signage at the entrance to the Cove explaining our street layout has been one of the projects on the Residents Association's priority list. When Great Lakes Council recently invited applications for grants of up to $2000, this particular project was seen as fitting within the grant guidelines.

At the Council meeting held last Tuesday 11 December, a recommendation was put forward to allocate community grants to 14 out of the 36 applicants. We are delighted to see in the Minutes that this recommendation was accepted and that our very own Residents Association is one of those successful applicants. Formal advice is not expected to come from Council until January with a presentation ceremony planned for February. In the meantime we can congratulate those members of our community who submitted the successful application.
