NACRA 2012 AGM - Sat. August 11th, 10.00am, at the Hall

Your village needs you!

Your village needs you!

Over the years the village has benefited enormously from the efforts of many volunteers who have generously given their time to serve the interests of our community.

The focus of their work has been to protect the Cove's unique environment, to raise funds for projects which improve our lives and to provide a medium for us to lobby local and state governments for better services.  As a consequence we have been granted hundreds of thousands of dollars for various capital projects. We have had significant input into local government decision making and, most importantly, everyone knows we count.

On 11 August 2012 at 10.00 am, your Residents' Association (NACRA) will hold its Annual General meeting at the Community Hall. All positions are vacant and we urge you to consider nominating for a role on the NACRA executive committee.

What are the positions to be filled?

The President is effectively the team leader of the committee. She/he chairs the NACRA executive and community meetings, keeps the focus of committee effort on community agreed priorities for improvement grants and funds expenditure and is our first point of contact with the outside world, including the GLC and State Government.

The Vice-President provides a backup service to the President and maybe directly involved in setting up and overseeing sub-committee project groups.

The Treasurer maintains NACRA's accounts. An important role, but ours is a small organisation and the number of monthly transactions is quite small, so the burden is quite small. The Treasurer sometimes takes on the complementary role of Membership Co-ordinator which requires maintaining a record of members and membership payments.

The Secretary's job is primarily one of recording and distributing the proceedings of each meeting. She/he also handles the incoming and outgoing correspondence (a few letters each month) and organises our bi-monthly meetings.

Ordinary Committee Members attend the meetings and assist in the general running of the Association in any way they can with whatever time they can contribute.

By joining our committee you will get to know our community better and be intimately involved in the process of preserving the best of our beautiful village.
