The sun shone. The sausages sizzled. And community members socialised following the Residents Association AGM yesterday (Saturday October 10). It was a splendid finale to what had been a busy morning.
Earlier there had been loud applause as Maureen Kelly agreed to accept nomination to serve once more as a member of the Association's executive committee. Maureen has been a long-time supporter of the Association and for a great many years served as its secretary. She joins the six continuing members on the 2015-16 committee: Doug & Kath Kohlhoff, Len Yearsley, Susan Carter, Tony Hann and Gary Sylvaney. (See attached minutes.)
In the General Meeting, which followed the AGM, there were concerns expressed about: temporary structures appearing within the Cove; the clearing and explosions on the eastern shore of the Cove waterway; the growth in roadside litter; and the speed at which some people are driving on the narrow Village roads. MidCoast Water supplied details of their "Expression of Interest" for sewerage provision in the village. A representative of MidCoast will come and meet with the community at a future meeting, tentaively scheduled for February.
For your diary: the next meeting will be held on 12 December 2015 at 10am.
