A revised insurance system and a tripling of fees by Tennis Australia penalises smaller clubs such as ours and has forced a budget review by your Committee (new costs are $400 base rate plus $250 per court.
Fees for members will remain the same but casual hirers will be charged an additional $2.00 per hour to help cover insurance. Night lighting charges will rise to $3.00 per hour.
The court telephone booking system is working well, with Committee members doing a monthly roster using the Club phone to take bookings. Call 0427 276 718 to book.
The general Rules of Play for users of the court have been revised and will be issued to all members and casual hirers. Commonsense and courtesy really!
Finally, keen observers will have noted our new “Opera House” shelter provided as a complete surprise by Council, at no expense to the Club. We are currently laying pavers around the shelter and plan to install improved seating and other improvements later in the year. At least we now have shelter from rain and sun, although it’s a bit draughty at times!
