The King of Steam

By dougk, 15 December, 2015

There are some clever people I admire in our neighbourhood who are endowed with drive, imagination and talent. Tony King of Karuah is one of those. Tony is well known to many of us, particularly through his business, Tony King Auto Repairs, which happens to be one of this website's generous sponsors. But away from the business of keeping the wheels of Karuah and the Cove spinning, Tony has been pursuing his passion for steamboats. You may have seen some earlier steamboat photos on the website gallery. His most recent steamboat creation (launched 2013) is even more remarkable.

Using wood milled from trees from his own property and applying his technical know-how to build the engine, Tony has crafted a gem of a little steamboat. To see this latest steamboat in action, check out this short video prepared last year by Ann and Les Fisher and published on ABC Open.
