3g Mobile shutdown
A follow up to my article last month.
there are 720000 mobile phones that need or have been replaced in Australia.
Just because your mobile says 4G / 5G doesn’t mean it is still usable.
Some phones can’t be identified when ringing 000 and are being blocked from the network
These mobiles also need replacing. There is no current way to check for this
Besides ringing 000 to see if you can get through,
BUT please do not do this. Keep the lines free for emergencies.
Microsoft Artificial Intelligence
Some may have noticed Microsoft are putting Artificial Intelligence into everything.
Windows / online searches and now Office 365 has it built in.
But don’t think they are doing it for free, as of January 2025 all Microsoft products will increase 40%
The biggest increase I have seen in 25 years.
Microsoft Recall
Microsoft Recall was talked about in May 2024, A feature of windows that takes screen shots every few seconds, to recall what you have done in the past. It was controlled by AI , you could ask it a question and it will show you what you had previously done.
But as it captured everything including web sites a video calls, it was criticised and quickly cancelled.
But without any announcement we have started finding traces of it built into windows after a recent update.
This insidious trend towards…
This insidious trend towards capturing every move in our lives doesn't stop with phones.
Every product I Google on the internet is followed up by a stream of ads for that same thing which continue for weeks after I have bought what I want and forgotten about it.
I can see a time not too far away when the technology will be patched or sewn into everything we use or wear, triggering a daily avalanche of ads on our phones or computers. "You're down to your last Weet-Bix, squeeze of toothpaste, ten sheets of toilet paper. On special now at......."
Even our cars are watching us:

Just be careful what you do on your back seat.
