At last Saturday's meeting of the Cove's Residents Association, candidates for next March's state election were given a very warm welcome by a small but enthusiastic audience. Current member Craig Baumann and Labor candidate Kate Washington faced more than an hour of questions covering health, transport, the retrospectivity of workers compensation changes, coal seam gas, a single authority for Port Stephens and issues associated with homelessness and community welfare. The candidates should certainly now be better informed as to which state issues are of concern to local residents.
Earlier in the meeting members were updated on the status of current projects and current activities of the various sub-committees.
Great Lakes Deputy Mayor attended the meeting and will be the guest speaker at the December 13 meeting.
