Bushfires and Oysters

By janiner, 1 July, 2020

This year has not been good for oyster farming. The state's oyster farmers were first hit by  bushfires, then floods and now by the shut down of restaurants due to the Covid-19 virus. It has been a hard year and we are just half way through. Our area has at least avoided the fires and floods.

DPI Fisheries have put out a video about the bushfire disaster. It is fronted by Ian Lyall, Program Leader Aquaculture. Ian addressed the oyster meeting last year in the community hall.
