Gutter Talk

Information

Some residents may not be aware that behind the bus shelter in Eastslope Way is a 4000 lt water tank fed from the old bus shelter roof. The water contained is used to hand water selected plants in Casuarina Reserve. But most importantly, it provides a reliable source of water for our Rural Fire Brigade. The tank has a special Stortz fitting that enables a fire truck to quickly connect to it to refill its tank.

The original guttering had corroded away allowing the water to go to waste. Last Thursday, MidCoast Council fitted new guttering to the shelter. Our thanks as residents to Steve Howard, Council Community Liason Officer.

What we need now is a new use for the shelter itself. A regular bus service would be the best outcome! But, in its absence, other suggestions from the community would be welcome.
