On Monday last (July 6) a contingent from the Mid North Coast SES team visited the Cove to say thank you to the whole Cove community. Speaking on behalf of the SES, Tony Day, the Mid North Coast SES Deputy Regional Commander, noted not only the wonderful effort the Cove Community in raising $4000 for the SES but also the generosity and support given to the SES workers whilst they were working in the Cove following the storm.
Moira Hooper accepted a certificate of appreciation from the Mid North Coast SES on behalf of the Cove community. No doubt this certificate will find a place of honour in the Community Hall.
Tony Day foreshadowed an event likely to occur during Storm-Safe week: the second week of September. This would address how residents could best prepare to cope should similar storms occur in the future.
